The combination of my off- and on-line networks paid off this morning when I learned a local firm is seeking to hire two Architects. My source, a former coworker who was off with us in March, is someone whom I helped place at the hiring firm. She in turn e-mailed me advance notice that the company was going to be staffing up.
I had located the position for this former coworker online, when she knew nothing of it. She now has informed me of this opening, before it's even posted. This is an example of the off-line and on-line aspects of a network; that is to say, the power of relationships.
Who knows where this will lead, but it's a ray of hope...
